Looking Forward

Thank you to everyone following along in Joey’s transplant journey- it sure has been

a road filled with many twists and turns. While he is recovering well from his second

liver transplant so far, there are still unknowns as it relates to his care going

forward. He is currently undergoing additional tests and treatments to help

determine the long-term care plan for his immune condition.

While the greatest gift our family could ever ask for is a second (and third) chance at

life for Joey, recovery and medical treatments will be lifelong for him. We decided to

partner with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) to assist with

fundraising in honor of Joey, which will ultimately set him up for a more

comfortable life as he continues on his transplant journey. Contributions to COTA

for Team Joey will only be used for transplant-related expenses (such as hospital

stays, follow-up doctor appointments, medications, medical supplies, additional

testing and treatments, etc.), and will be made available throughout his entire

lifetime. All gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

COTA has created a fundraising campaign page for Joey, which you can find here.

Going forward, we will be sharing updates on his progress through his campaign

page, and have migrated all previous updates there as well. A more complete update

on Joey’s progress will be coming within the next week! In the meantime, please feel

free to share Joey’s campaign page far and wide. You are also able to subscribe for

alerts of new events and updates. If you are considering contributing to his

campaign, please be sure to check if your employer will match!

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for sharing in Joey’s story and supporting

his care going forward! We are so grateful for your support and love, and look

forward to sharing in his progress and successes as he continues to recover.

Love to all,

The Moschellas
