We Have a Match

We were informed this morning of a potential organ match for Joey, which we decided to accept this evening. It was a decision we didn’t make lightly, but given what little information we have currently, we feel it is the best option for saving his life. We have no real data yet indicating that the steroids were/could work, and we aren’t sure he’ll get such a good organ offer again while he’s still in such good condition to receive one.

However, there still also exists the possibility that this organ could fall through during assessments leading up to his surgery. We are taking it minute-by-minute.

His surgery is tentatively scheduled tomorrow around 3 or 4am and will likely last close to 8 hours.

We have taken a step on a path, but are still unsure where it will lead us. Please pray it ends with a healthy Joey, back home in our arms.

Love to you all.
